Walmart

November 18, 2009

It seems I left all of my clothes back in New York. So it was off to walmart for the very first time, where I delighted in the variety of socks, Siheun in hair care, Alex in hats, and Nathan in BOP-IT. A successful journey through excess.

bop it!!

On to Montreal, where we hung out with Mike aka Mixylodian, Patrick aka Mountain Man Pat Jordache. We met some wonderful people, including Lionel the proprietor, Victoria who used to live on the Q train, and also the guys from Tune Yards.

We stayed at the Fairmount Queen Elizabeth… an inappropriate, but still awesome, experience… and got a taste of French-Canada (smoked meat, poutine and bagels, oh my).

so much smoked meat

Yesterday we got to Toronto. Keith, the guy who set up the show for us, is incredibly nice and impossibly active… tours with 2 bands, sets up festivals, curates 5 nights a week at the venue he runs and does sound for, and also manages wild dance parties. Take your illicit substances somewhere else!

Hung out with Alex, which was really cool, and stayed at his beautiful house in Dundes West. I got to walk around the neighborhood… where am I again?

a blog

November 16, 2009

Hello,

This is Carlos. I’m sitting in Nathan’s basement in Syracuse, NY so I decided to start a blog for ava luna. Last night we played at wesleyan… real late, but good people. I was on 3 hours of sleep and passed out through “awesome fest.” Sometimes sleep is just the more awesome choice.

Tonight we were at half penny pub here in Syracuse with some of Nathan’s old buddies’ band, Stonelord. Sick guitar shredding, super chill sound guy… the works.

Alex and I demolished a wedge of pepperoni, which means it’s time for bed. Off to Montreal in the morning…
